If you want to be more involved in Blackburn North Neighbourhood House there are plenty of options available!
Opportunities to Volunteer
We have several Volunteers including 8 members of the Committee of Management who meet once a month (10 times each year). Other volunteers lead groups and/or offer their services in the office or on sub-committees for specific purposes. Volunteers are vital to programs and operations and we are very grateful to them all. Voluntary work is a rewarding activity where you can connect with like-minded people, develop your skills and help to improve the quality of life for all involved.
We are committed to ensuring that our volunteers are encouraged, supported and well informed. We have an array of opportunities for volunteering throughout the week. Contact the office for more information.
Opportunities to Teach a Class
Do you have an idea about a course, workshop or group that you would like to run? We are always looking for local, experienced people who would like to share their skills, with other members of the community. There has been an interest in new classes and workshops but we need qualified people to facilitate and lead them.
We would like to add to our program by offering various workshops in the following topics:
* Workshops for pre-teens and teens
* Children's music or craft sessions
* Multicultural cooking and language classes
* Photography
* Adult music and singing classes - choir
* Gardening
Please come in and have a chat with us if you have experience in any of these areas.
Opportunities to Learn — Expressions of Interest
What kinds of courses or projects would you like to join? Are there any activities you are interested in, or events or services that you would like to see offered? We are always open to new ideas.
Ring the cottage at 9878 6632 to discuss any of these opportunities.
