Botanical Illustration
Mondays, 1.00 pm-3. 00pm 15 Apr - 24 Jun $30 per month, payable at the beginning of the month Learn to capture nature in living colour with award winning artist Antoinette Blyth. Each month, over two, 2 hour workshops, Antoinette will introduce learners to the techniques artists use to draw and paint plants from nature. Classes will explore concepts such as the importance of observation with regard to the plant, replicating that information with our drawing, interpreting the colours we see in the plant by the skill of mixing colours on palette and on paper and understanding the technique of applying colour to retain the delicacy and texture of the plant. On the remaining Mondays of the month, learners are encouraged to return to the house to practice their skills in the company of other learners. Learners are encouraged to book for both months but can book for each independently. |

Celtic Jam - Social Music
Wednesday nights 6.30 - 7.30pm Introductory workshop 7.30 - 9.00pm Jam Session $4 per session A celtic jam session is an informal get-together to socialise and share music with others, crossing all social and demographic boundaries. No sheet music or music stands needed, musicians simply come together and learn tunes from each other. It’s a popular custom that has stood the test of time. Celtic Jam continues this tradition. We’re a diverse group of instrumentalists who meet each Wednesday night to play and share tunes we love, at a not-too-fast speed! Ear learning is encouraged, but we also provide sheet music. We also play regular gigs. We’d love to see you there! The introductory workshop allows participants to learn a tune by ear slowly, and play through other tunes from our repertoire slowly (with or without music), especially for those who are new to celtic music, to ear-learning, or to playing an instrument. For more information, see the webpage: https://quasitrad.com/celtic-jam/ or email Judy: judy.quasitrad@icloud.com. |
